gardening tools 1800s

For the beginning greenhouse gardener there are smaller versions available that come in the form of portable greenhouses, a hobby greenhouse, or mini greenhouses. What ways are available to ensure that your garden stays intact and beautiful while at the same time causing no harm to the wildlife that enjoy eating your plants, flowers, and vegetables.

The majority of wildlife has a superior sense of smell, and often amazing hearing. This will not always work though, because in the dead of winter they will go in your garden anyway. Strong smells such as garlic, baby powder, chili power, or rotten eggs all interfere with the wildlife's ability to smell the plants that they like to eat.

It is a good idea to work your soil in the fall. Also shiny objects will sometimes keep deer and other larger animals away. If you are just planting a small vegetable garden the hoes might do the job, but if you have several acres of crop then the chemical herbicide might be the best choice for you.

Make sure to keep the flowers moist until they are established in the soil. So go to your local garden store and have a look around for ideas for this upcoming year.
